Lloyd explores various ways in which light is processed by both the viewer and the camera. Photography captures light in such a way that informs how we as individuals share in life’s experiences. Street photography, portraiture, and landscapes are idioms through which Lloyd endeavors to tap into the tempo connecting viewer and camera. It is through this development of understanding that he may excavate light-enthralled truths.
Lloyd E Walker is a photographer based in Portland, Oregon. His roots are in southern Louisiana, whose laissez-faire culture shaped his sensibility. Life in the Pacific Northwest has since inflected the aesthetic of his work.
He works primarily with 35mm film, shooting the streets of Portland and carrying the camera wherever the Pacific Northwest — and occasionally beyond — takes him.
